Concatenative Morphology

Definition

Concatenative Morphology (also referred to as process morphology or concatenation) are morphological processes that involve the combination of two or more morphemes in order to create word changes. Concatenative morphology can be contrasted to non-concatenative morphology, which is discussed here. Types of concatenative morphology include:

• Compounding
• Affixation
  • Within affixation, this includes prefixation, suffixation, infixation, etc..
