[constricted glottis]

Definition

Sounds that are described as having the feature [constricted glottis] or [CG], are sounds that have irregular glottal pulses during articulation as a result of the vocal folds being constricted (Zsiga, 2013, p. 262). Sounds that are described by [CG] include glottal stops and sounds articulated with creaky voice.
