[+/- delayed release]

Definition

Sounds that are members of the class [+delayed release] (DR for short) are those articulated as a stop followed by a fricative articulation, instead of opening into a vowel. Affricates are [+DR], where all other consonants, including stops, are [-DR] ) (Zsiga, 2013, p. 260).
