Scope Ambiguity

Definition

Scope ambiguity is a specific semantic ambiguity that deals with quantifiers. Specifically, scope ambiguities arise when a quantifier interacts with another quantifier in a clause with negation or other interfering elements. This creates potential for multiple interpretations based on the quantifier ambiguity. (Kroeger, 2018, p. 72)
